Demetrius DuBose, athlete, 28

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Demetrius DuBose, a former pro football player, was shot
and killed Saturday by police when he threatened officers during a
confrontation, authorities said. He was 28.

DuBose played for Notre Dame from 1989 to 1992. He was a second-round draft
pick of Tampa Bay in 1993 and played four seasons with the team.

He signed with the New York Jets as a free agent in 1997, but was waived by
the team four months later.
