Hall of Fame Sports Writer Dies in San Bruno

A Bay Area sports writer who covered baseball for almost 50 years has
died in his San Bruno home.
Bob Stevens began writing for the San Francisco Chronicle in 1935, and
was inducted into the sports writing wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame
in 1999. He covered every World Series and All-Star Game from 1958 to
1978.
Stevens apparently died of natural causes. He was 85.
